Welcome to my teaching website. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I bring to my work a sense of passion, conscience, and critical inquiry. I have an MFA in Directing (TV and Film Production) as well as a "Business of Entertainment" Certificate from the University of Southern California - School of Cinema, where I was funded for three years by the George Lucas Family Foundation and inducted into the Academy of Motion Pictures - Gold Program. I am also a certified online instructor with a Ph.D. in English from Howard University and a B.A. in Theater from San Francisco State. I worked for The Academy of Motion Pictures, produced a TV show for Disney Plus and have worked with several other clients, which include HGTV, Buzz Feed, Lifetime, OWN, Array, and more.
Whether I am teaching my students Film History, Screenwriting, Cinematic Techniques, Feature, Short, Documentary Making, or Film Business and Distribution techniques, I believe that each student has a unique gift and a unique story to tell. I emphasize collaboration in my student-centered classrooms and encourage each student to excel to the very best of their ability.
